AutoLegend

AutoLegend makes the sheet legend for you. Select one or more sheets. For each sheet, the add-on copies your legend template view, names the copy after the sheet number, and places it on the sheet.

• Reads every family type used in the views on the sheet.
• Adds one legend row for each type, with no repeats, also when the same type shows in two views on the sheet.
• Writes the type name and the number of instances next to each row.
• Copies the template rows and lines, so the legend keeps your own graphics.
• Skips a sheet that already has its legend, a sheet with no family instances, and any selected item that is not a sheet.
• Makes all legends in one transaction, so one undo removes them.
• Needs a legend view named "Legend 1" in the model as the template, and tells you when it is missing.
• Works in Revit 2020 to Revit 2026.
